The body is our guide; all we need to do is learn to listen.

— Andrea Olsen

My sessions with Donnella are magical. Her knowledge and finesse opens a pathway for me to mend what is painful and raw. Donnella’s insight, knowledge, training and experience allows a body-based approach which trumps years of talk therapy.
— Chris Quinlan
At the time I began with Donnella I had constant pain due to a severe spinal condition and surgery. I was also processing enormous grief stemming for my partner being significantly injured in a car accident. Donnella not only helped me overcome my physical pain and movement limitation, she supported my processing the grief from my partner’s accident. I worked with her weekly and noted quick improvement. I looked forward to each session. By the end of the series I had almost no pain and was doing modern dance again. Walking was no longer painful- it was delicious
— Eleanor Benecki
I received immediate pain relief during my first session with Donnella. She taught me ways to adjust myself and my movements and I have not needed to utilize other supportive modalities for this issue since our sessions. It is empowering to be able to care for myself.

Hello & Welcome!

I believe the body has innate intelligence.

Throughout our lives, we can develop patterns or experience traumas that unknowingly distract us from this intelligence.

The heart of my work helps you develop a deeper ability to listen to your body. You gain the awareness, resources, connection, and tools needed to live with more ease, less pain, and tension.

For over 18 years I have worked with injured individuals recovering from injuries or chronic conditions, dancers, persons experiencing anxiety, and those wanting to feel more at home in the their bodies.

I became a movement therapist because of the significant impact movement, somatic education, and dance has had on my life.  Not only has it helped me feel more vital, grounded, and at ease, it has been a vehicle for getting to know myself more deeply. It has opened doorways and changed how I experience myself in the World and in relationships.

I have a broad-based education. I am a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist, certified Pilates instructor, certified Laban Bartenieff Movement Analyst, pelvic floor specialist, and a graduate of Whitman College with a background in mental health and dance.

Additionally my training and practice of yoga, Body Mind Centering, experiential anatomy, Vipassana meditation, interpersonal neurobiology, and Authentic Movement informs my work.

My role as a therapist is to collaborate with you. Your insight and experience help shape the direction of our sessions. I listen, guide, and offer insight and tools. I am invested in meeting your needs.

I love helping and witnessing people regain the ability to move more effortlessly and feel more connected to themselves and their life. And I delight in providing the tools and knowledge needed so you know how to care for yourself for a lifetime

For nine years, I owned and operated BodyWise Studio, a  Pilates, yoga, movement, and healing arts studio. Now, I am mother of a five-year old and want to devote my time to working directly with clients.

If you have questions or if I can be of service to you, please be in contact. I look forward to hearing from you.
